We work with all sectors of the development industry (public and private) to assist them in formulating and implementing development schemes. You would be involved in a variety of projects to support the planning and development consultancy work and to advise clients with support from Director and Associate Planner.


Your role

You will work on a number of varied projects, so a proven ability to manage your own time, workload and problem solve is critical. Ideally, you will also be able to demonstrate the skills needed to market and innovate as these are important elements of this role.


  • Two years’ post-graduate experience in consultancy or local government;

  • Town Planning or similar degree;

  • Master’s degree in RTPI/RICS accredited subjects;

  • Achieved or be working towards chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI);

  • Analytical skills;

  • Presentation and writing skills;

  • Clear commitment to working in the planning and property development field.



Your workload will include:

  • Preparing planning applications and appeals;

  • Planning appraisals;

  • Planning strategies; and

  • Development plan representations.

You will provide advice and guidance to a variety of clients including developers, housebuilders, tourism businesses, energy companies and private individuals as well as local planning authorities and other third sector organisations.


Salary and benefits package

We offer a competitive salary range (£30 - 40k plus benefits, depending on experience). We offer flexibility to work from our Conwy or Chester office and also work from home, along with the opportunity to work in an environment which allows for an excellent work/life balance.

Administrator or Administration Apprentice

Your role

You would be responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the Director, Associate Planner and Planning Consultants, including:

  • Logging and following up on new enquiries

  • Setting up new jobs

  • Keeping track of Planning Applications as they progress

  • Managing phone calls and taking messages

  • Scheduling meetings and keeping the diary organised

  • General office duties – printing and scanning, keeping on top of post and any payments


  • Minimum grade C at GCSE level in both English and Mathematics

  • Solid IT skills and use of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent telephone manner

  • Willingness to learn

*Welsh Language proficiency desirable
