About the application
The proposal relates to the erection of three zip wire courses (4 zip lines), laying of hard standing, creation of internal access roads and pedestrian routes, temporary siting of cabins and use of land for car parking on land at Rhigos Mountain and Tower Colliery, Rhigos.
The application is submitted by Zip World, an adventure tourism provider, who opened their first zip line adventure in Bethesda, North Wales in 2013. The North Wales adventure business wants to bring its unique brand of extraordinary experiences and adventure to South Wales, in the Cynon Valley.
Back in February 2019, Zip World consulted on proposed plans for a zip wire development at the above site. By now, the route for zip C has been amended and therefore we are re-consulting on this change. Zip C now proposes to finish on land at Tower Colliery rather than on a field to the west of Tower Colliery. The remainder of the scheme remains unchanged as per the plans subject to consultation earlier this year.
