Proposal for the temporary use of land for casting and storage of concrete armour units intended to facilitate the repair works on the breakwater within the Holyhead Port

Cadnant Planning Ltd has been commissioned by Tyddyn Lantern Ltd to undertake a pre-application consultation (PAC) in respect of proposed development on Tyddyn Lantern, Turkey Shore Road, Holyhead, LL65 2DE.

 

We give notice that Tyddyn Lantern Ltd is intending to apply for planning permission for the temporary use of land for casting and storage of concrete armour units intended to facilitate the repair works on the breakwater within the Holyhead Port. The development of the site will include the provision of a new vehicular access and circulation, a concrete batching plant and equipment for the casting of concrete units, the siting of a portacabin to be used as staff welfare facilities, associated parking and use of external areas for the storage of cast concrete units.

 

Prior to formal submission to the Local Planning Authority and in accordance with the requirements set out in Part 1A of the Town & Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) (Amendment) Order 2016, the proposal will be subject to pre-application consultation.

About the Application

The applicant is seeking a new planning permission for the development of the site, including new vehicular access and circulation, a concrete batching plant and equipment for the casting of concrete units, the siting of a portacabin to be used as staff welfare facilities, associated parking and use of external area for the storage of cast concrete units, all on a temporary basis. The concrete units are required for a local construction project. It is intended that once that project is completed, the concrete plant and casting equipment would be removed and the site vacated in a condition suited for business and employment uses.
