This application relates to a proposal by Grŵp Llandrillo-Menai to enhance and improve their educational facilities at their Coleg Meirion Dwyfor campus in Dolgellau.

Coleg Meirion Dwyfor is the sole Further Education provider in the Meirionnydd region, catering for a broad but sparsely populated geographical area as part of tertiary education arrangements within Meirionnydd. The college has five feeder schools without sixth-forms and also attracts learners from further afield from the north-west of Gwynedd to undertake specialist provision that is not available at the Pwllheli campus. 

The proposed new educational building would form part of a phased redevelopment plan for the Dolgellau campus, to provide a new A-level centre providing versatile, modern teaching spaces. At present, much of the existing provision is currently housed within an 1889 extension to the pre-existing school-house. The proposal represents an investment of £10M in creating an attractive, fit-for-purpose A-level facility.
